United VARs held its APJ Summit on November 12-14 in Tokyo, Japan. With strong support from our Japanese member, IPS, this event continues our tradition of fostering regional collaboration and sharing insights specific to the Asia-Pacific Japan region. The summit will include workshops, presentations on SAP solutions, and strategic discussions to enhance regional growth.
Day One
Alexander Herfort, Co-Managing Director at United VARs started proceedings by looking at local insights through a global perspective. This was followed by an update on SAP’s latest news in Asia by Mr Hirofumi Suzuki, President and Representative Director of SAP Japan.
Florencia Bicain facilitated a round table discussion that navigated the SAP APJ Partner Ecosystem and how it drives innovation and success together. Our speakers were Andrew Davis, Global Vice President and Head of Global Platinum Resellers for SAP; Harald Weinbrecht, CEO of Axxis Consulting; Kishie Hattori, Chief Partner Officer in Japan for SAP; Seree Satukijchai, CEO of NetYizen; Tracy Zhou, CEO of Acloudear; Yo Akamatsu, CEO of IPS.
In the afternoon, Yoshio Nishiyama from our solution partner, Amazon Web Services (AWS), brought us up-to-date on how AWS and SAP are helping businesses make more informed cloud decisions through their partnership. By leveraging AWS's robust cloud infrastructure and SAP's deep enterprise expertise, companies can gain real-time, data-driven insights and actionable recommendations. This collaboration aims to streamline cloud adoption, enhance operational efficiency, and drive innovation with AI-powered solutions.
The AWS-SAP partnership is designed to help businesses of all sizes modernize their operations, improve efficiency, and drive innovation through cloud-based solutions.
A discussion about how SAP is leveraging generative AI to revolutionize its business applications and processes with AI innovations was led by Varum Thamba. SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) integrates large language models from AWS, making it easier to build generative AI use cases for SAP applications.
Ana Corrales, Global Platinum Resellers - United VARs for SAP, talked about the global partner management program, designed to foster strong relationships with partners around the world, enabling them to deliver innovative solutions and services to customers.
United VARs members presented customer cases in Cloud:

- Tung Wah College – Jerry Lee, Head of Sales and ESG solutions at Dynasys.
- KPP Holdings – Mr Kengo Nakzawa, Senior Executive and CIO at IPS.
Near to the end of the day, group discussions were held and moderated by Alexander Herfort, Florencia Bicain, Neslihan Kurus, Carol Li, and Tracy Zhou.
Day One ended with an amazing boat tour, dinner, and karaoke at Tokyo Bay.
Day Two
Day Two started with sharing United VARs insights and service offerings to our members and the topics included:
- How the Partner Managed Cloud can help the Uited VARs members.
- Our new Solution Partner, Worksoft, was introduced with the topic: The future of test automation with Worksoft.
- Roundtable discussion facilitated by Neslihan Kurus: How to master one of our biggest challenges today – The War for Talent.

- Bangpakok Hospital Group – Nartnapa Tharakittikul for Netizen.
- Fujifilm Electronic Material Taiwan – Brittany Chen for Soetek.
